Being an entrepreneur mom is more work than I anticipated!  What I’ve come to learn over the past 4 years is that time management is key.  While I still miss a lot of my son’s basketball games, I believe that I’m building something for my family, specifically, Quincy’s future.  I would encourage any mom looking to start her own business to step out and go for it, but with your thick skin on!  As moms, we want to be there to raise and nurture our children, but getting a business off the ground WILL sometimes get in the way of that!  My advice is to build (if you don’t already have it) a good and reliable support system, for your children AND YOURSELF!!!  My husband steps in for our son when I’m working and he’s there when I need a shoulder to cry on or an ear to share some exciting news!  Having this business is the hardest I’ve ever worked, but when my son is bragging about cakes I’ve made for some of his favorite people, I am happy!  In all of this, I just need to know that I’ve made them proud and that I’ve built something for our family.  Otherwise, what is it all for?
